Seasoned photographer MICHAEL BUCK is a frequent contributor to various Gemini Publications, along with well-known corporate clients including Amway and J.W. Marriott. Based in Grand Rapids, Buck opened M-Buck Studio in 1996 and does a variety of print, catalog, food, fashion, landscape, portraiture, wedding, real estate and industrial photography.

M. CHRISTINE BYRON and TOM WILSON are fascinated by the history of Michigan tourism and roadside architecture. Their pictorial “Vintage Views” books have received three Michigan Notable Book awards and a State History Award.

JERRY DENNIS is a renowned Michigan author and BLUE’s Reflections columnist. He lives near Traverse City where he gets away with calling his fishing, hunting, canoeing, birding and beach walking “research.” Author of 11 books, Jerry’s articles and essays have run in more than 100 publications.

ALEX FLUEGEL is a writer from Grand Rapids who focuses on arts and culture, her work provides glimpses of life in Michigan through its people and the places they make home. Alex lives in Hamtramck and may be found running along the Detroit Riverfront, poking around Eastern Market or in her backyard reading/scrolling through Twitter. BOB GWIZDZ is a Michigan native and career outdoor writer. He served as outdoor editor for Booth Newspapers and now works for the Department of Natural Resources. His work has been featured in many of America’s top hunting and fishing magazines and websites.

HEATHER HIGHAM is a landscape photographer based in Traverse City. She spends as much time as she can outdoors. When not editing photos, you can find her on the trail, in the water, or on the slopes - often with camera in hand. Her work has been featured in several Michigan publications.


TOM HUGGLER is a Sunfield-based writer whose works have graced more than 100 magazines. He is the author of 20 books, including the Fish Michigan series of mapped guidebooks. Tom was inducted into the Michigan Outdoor Hall of Fame in June 2017 at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing Center in Cadillac. 

COREENE KREISER is a commercial photographer, art photographer and yoga instructor. She is drawn to beauty and emotions behind a scene. She graduated from Western Michigan University’s fine art photography program in 2002 and shoots family and wedding portraits, too. She lives on a Traverse City farm with her husband and son.

JEANINE MATLOW is a Detroit-based freelance writer and regular contributor to national and regional publications, Matlow’s weekly Homestyle column appears in The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press.


MARLA R. MILLER is a professional writer and journalist who lives in Norton Shores, where she enjoys the lakeshore lifestyle — camping, hiking, boating, beaching and Lake Michigan sunsets.

LINDA ODETTE is a former newspaper writer and editor.  She loves interesting people and interesting stories. She’s written about dancing dogs, aliens, fancy office chairs and the world-famous St. Patrick’s celebration on Beaver Island. She lives in Ionia.

From his Grand Haven home base, prolific photographer JOHNNY QUIRIN is a frequent contributor to West Michigan publications, the Pure Michigan campaign, Midwest Living and Spectrum Health, among others. He keeps equally busy as owner of a full-service school and youth sports portrait company.

TODD & BRAD REED Well-known for their award-winning images, the Reeds, a father and son team, are based in Ludington where they own a gallery. They travel the state capturing landscapes, sunsets, wildlife and the splendor of Michigan’s four seasons and soon will come out with their seventh photo book called “Wonderous West Shore.”


KIM SCHNEIDER has explored nearly every corner of Michigan as a travel writer and photographer in her continual search of adventure, wildlife, great food and great light. A long-time journalist and former magazine writing instructor,  Kim works as a freelance writer and editor from a home base in Michigan's Leelanau County

CHUCK WARREN is a licensed captain and freelance boating writer in Grandville. He grew up on the New Jersey shore and spent 20 plus years working in the marine industry. He met his wife Lanie while operating a sunset cruise and followed her back to Michigan where he has fallen for the Great Lakes.


MEGAN WESTERS is a freelance writer and editor living in Jackson. Megan has written for a variety of publications about lifestyle, politics, food, wine and travel. She is the digital marketing manager for a winery and enjoys camping, being outdoors, tea and her dachshund, Oakley.

JULIE BONNER WILLIAMS is a devotee of nature, history and literature. Julie is an award-winning poet and a professor at Grand Valley State University. She is now working on her first novel. She lives on the lakeshore with her husband, four horses, four dogs, several organic, free-range chickens, turkeys and ducks, and a mule named Amos.

GLENN WOLFF is a Northern Michigan artist and regular BLUE Reflections contributor Wolff illustrated for the New York Times for 30 years and has collaborated on several books with Michigan author Jerry Dennis.
